We decided that since gardening is a great pastime to write a bit more about gardening. Without further ado, here are some ways to maximize your garden space!
Use garden beds, not rows
Garden beds are much more practical and give you much more space, by getting rid of the space needed to walk between rows. Build a keyhole or inlet for better access to the beds if you don’t have full access.
Grow your veggies vertically
So many veggies do better when grown vertically such as peas, tomatoes, winter beans and pumpkins. Growing them vertically frees up the garden for other crops.
Try succession planting
Keep a continually producing garden. For instance, as the tomato harvest draws near, plant other veggies, such as kale or Swiss chard.
Take advantage of the shade!
You can grow rhubarb, leafy greens, mushrooms and other crops in partially shaded areas.
Utilize the space in your front yard
If you don’t want fruits or veggies for fear of ruining the aesthetics , edible plants can be part of your landscape and you can easily grow them.
